Children's work is play.
Through play, children learn to communicate, to share, and to solve problems as well as discover their own creativity. During classtime and circletime activities, children are introduced to the skills necessary to function in the formal education environment they encounter in elementary school.
Standards Now, Knowledge For a LifetimeBetsey’s Learning Tree is utilizing Ohio’s new early learning academic content standards that helps parents and others who work with preschool children understand what these young learners should know and be able to do in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. These standards are aligned with Ohio’s kindergarten standards that help the teachers, children and families understand what is expected for a successful kindergarten.
Betsey’s Learning Tree will be focusing on Reading Skills with phonetic awareness, word recognition and fluency, acquisition of vocabulary, concepts of print, comprehension strategies, self-monitoring strategies, informational, technical, persuasive text, and literary text. Mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, field trips, gym time, snacks, and many other play and work experiences will be offered that will enable your child to learn and be prepared for kindergarten.

Important Information for ParentsDay Care LunchesNutritional lunches are required by the State of Ohio. When lunches lack essential elements such as grain, meat/protein, fruit, or vegetable, the BLT is required by law to supplement the child's lunch.
As of October 2, 2006, the charge for each supplement missing from a child's lunch will be $3.00 and $6.00 will be charged for an entire lunch. Fund Raisers4everart Treasures turns your child's work of art into a lasting keepsake. Children create an art piece which is sent to 4everart Treasures where it is turned into a magnet, mouse pad, coffee mug, check book covers, aprons, note cards, etc. A perfect gift idea for Mom, Dad, and grandparents, too. The children walked down to the Ohio River Levee to look at the sternwheelers. One of the visitors from the boat took our picture, talked with us, and sent us the pictures with a nice note about the children and the warm welcome they received from the Marietta community.
